Yesterday was the last day for filing federal tax returns for most Americans. A number of anti-tax groups chose the day to stage modern day “Tea Parties.” Encouraged by conservative talk show hosts and certain cable news networks, people showed up to protest in hundreds of locations including more than a dozen in Washington state. But, two local activist organizations are saying that wealthy corporations aren’t paying their fair share.
