Blair Anundson is WashPIRG’s consumer and democracy
advocate. From 2004 to 2006, he was an organizer for WashPIRG’s Evergreen State
College student chapter where he ran voter registration drives, passed a campus
wide referendum that committed Evergreen’s student body to investments in
renewable energy, and organized efforts to increase federal student aid
funding. In late 2006, he ran a massive voter registration campaign on behalf
of the State PIRGs New Voters Project in schools throughout the Los Angeles Community
College District (LACCD).
In early 2007, Blair worked for the Center for Campus Free
Speech where he defended against efforts to restrict the free exchange of ideas
on college campuses. During that time, he worked to stop extremists like David
Horowitz from passing the “Academic Bill of Restrictions” in Kentucky and
Missouri. Mr. Anundson organized students and faculty to testify at hearings,
built massive and diverse coalitions, and did region-wide media outreach.
Prior to joining the PIRGs, Mr. Anundson worked on several
Congressional campaigns in Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Allegheny College,
a liberal arts school in Meadville, PA.
